Start with an individual evaluation
Prescription treatment may be one part of a weight care plan alongside nutrition, activity, and ongoing support. Suitability depends on health history, medicines, weight related conditions, and pregnancy plans. Your provider will determine whether an option is appropriate.
Understand the exact product
FDA approval applies to a specific product, formulation, indication, and population. Off label use means an approved medicine is prescribed outside its approved labeling. A compounded preparation is not FDA approved and has not undergone the same premarket review for safety, effectiveness, and quality.
Wegovy and Ozempic contain semaglutide, but their approved uses are not interchangeable. Wegovy has a weight management indication; Ozempic is a diabetes product with additional labeled indications for defined populations. Zepbound and Mounjaro contain tirzepatide. Zepbound has a weight management indication; Mounjaro is a diabetes product. Eligibility and other indications are product specific.
These examples do not establish which product Lola supplies. Ask for the exact name, formulation, approval status, and current labeling of the medicine offered to you. An ingredient name alone is not enough.
Benefits, limitations, and risks
These medicines may support weight management, but response and tolerability vary. Gastrointestinal side effects can occur, and important contraindications and warnings apply. Discuss pregnancy plans, medical history, and all medicines before considering treatment.
Metformin is a different medicine used for type 2 diabetes. Use for weight management may be off label and requires a separate discussion of evidence and risks. Do not change a dose or combine medicines based on this page.
Discuss monitoring before starting
Ask how nutrition, symptoms, and progress will be reviewed, what to do if side effects occur, and what happens if treatment is interrupted. Seek prompt care for severe or persistent abdominal pain or other serious symptoms. Follow the instructions for your specific prescription.
