What to notice
Note when tiredness began, how it affects daily life, and whether rest helps. Bring information about sleep, medicines, recent illness, mood, and other changes.
Possible contributing factors
Fatigue can be associated with inadequate sleep, stress, medicines, or medical conditions. It is not proof of a vitamin deficiency, hormone imbalance, or need for longevity treatment.
When to seek care
Discuss persistent or unexplained fatigue with a provider. Seek urgent care if it occurs with chest pain, difficulty breathing, fainting, or other severe symptoms.
Questions to bring
- What history would help narrow the possible causes?
- Would any testing be useful in my situation?
- What changes or follow up should we discuss?
