How do refills and follow up work?
Ongoing care is part of treatment. Here is what to expect and what to ask about.
These answers describe how telehealth care generally works. Your provider will confirm anything that applies specifically to you.
Follow up is part of the plan
Prescription treatments include ongoing review. Your provider follows your progress, discusses how you are feeling, and adjusts or stops a medicine when appropriate.
Before starting treatment, ask how follow up visits are scheduled, what they involve, and how you will receive refills. Your care team can walk you through the specifics for your plan.
If something changes
Contact your care team about side effects, new symptoms, new medicines, or a change in your health. Do not adjust your dose on your own, and follow the instructions on your prescription.
Seek immediate medical care for a serious reaction. For questions that are not urgent, raise them at your next visit or through your care team.
